The cooking extruder can be fitted with a screen changer that prevents solid particles from entering and clogging the die. Screen changers are essential — without one, products can suffer severe loss of quality, and production can come to a halt.
The screen changer is fitted with a start-up valve that regulates pressure buildup and adds an extra layer of safety during operation. Before putting the extruded product onto the belt, the screen changer can be locked in the central position — a neutral setting without a screen. In this position, the mass is diverted downwards and can easily be checked for texture and consistency, then reworked as needed.
The central position is also a quick, secure way to prevent downstream equipment from breaking in case of issues — reducing overall downtime and protecting the full production line.
